Safety

The safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors are our highest priorities. Northwest Georgia Charter Academy maintains a comprehensive School Safety Plan that aligns with guidance from FEMA, GEMA/HS, the Georgia Department of Education, and local emergency management and public safety agencies. The plan is reviewed regularly, shared with staff, and practiced through age-appropriate emergency drills. A designated School Safety Coordinator oversees its implementation, annual review, and continuous improvement. Staff receive ongoing safety training, including CPR, AED, and first aid, and emergency medical equipment is maintained on campus.

Northwest Georgia Charter Academy maintains a mobile panic alert system connected to 911 and first responders, current digital school mapping data provided to emergency agencies, and a behavioral threat assessment team, consistent with Georgia law.

The Georgia Department of Education, with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, also operates a statewide 24-hour toll-free safety hotline: 1-877-SAY-STOP (1-877-729-7867).
