At NWGA Charter Academy, we are proud to provide an inclusive and transparent admissions process that reflects our commitment to serving all students. As a public charter school, there is no tuition, and enrollment is open to all eligible students within our designated area. Please click HERE for our Enrollment Policy.
Hands-on, project-based learning that connects students to real-world opportunities and service in the community
Northwest Georgia Charter Academy does not discriminate in admissions or access to its programs on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, disability, age, veteran status, homelessness, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable federal or state law in its programs, activities, admissions, or employment.
In accordance with state guidelines, priority status is granted to:
A sibling of a student enrolled in Northwest Georgia Charter Academy
A student whose parent or guardian is a member of the governing board of Northwest Georgia Charter Academy, or is a full-time or part-time paraprofessional or other employee of Northwest Georgia Charter Academy.
Students experiencing homelessness have the right to enroll immediately, even without proof of residency, immunization records, or school records. Students in foster care have the right to remain in their school of origin when it is in their best interest. Contact our McKinney-Vento liaison or foster care point of contact for help at any point in the process.
The number of seats available for each grade level for the 2026-27 school year are as follows:
Kindergarten -40 2nd Grade – 21 4th Grade – 26
1st Grade -21 3rd Grade – 21 5th Grade – 26
Should the number of Pre-Enrollment applications for any grade level exceed the number of seats available, a lottery will be conducted to fill the seats and create a waiting list.
Enrollment process highlights for our initial year enrollment(see policy for additional clarification):
The lottery will be conducted on November 17, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. at Cave Spring City Hall in the Council meeting room and the public may attend either in person, zoom link, or on a live broadcast.
Each student will be assigned an application number that will be communicated to each parent/guardian. This number will be used during the lottery process to protect the privacy of students and families.
Since there are no students currently enrolled, sibling priority will occur only during the lottery for any siblings enrolling at the same time (details below).
Since there are no current employees, children of future employees will be placed on the top of the waitlist upon hiring. This means that students who are currently on the waitlist will shift down to allow for the priority of employees.
Any children of founding board members will be placed on the seat list without the need to participate in the lottery. Any added founding board members joining after the lottery who have children to enroll will be placed on the top of the waitlist in the order of joining with any new employees.
A lottery will be completed for each grade level that needs one separately. Students in the lottery will be chosen by a computerized system. Chosen students will be placed on the seat list in the order they are selected. If the application indicates there are siblings, those students will also be placed on the seat list for their respective grade levels at the same time.
Should the drawing of a student with siblings occur such that it places a sibling in a grade level that has already reached the maximum number, the sibling will be added, and the class size will remain over capacity until any student does not complete the enrollment process. At that time, the class size will revert to the original number and a student will not come off of the waitlist.
Parents/guardians will be notified in writing of the results of the lottery. Student seats must be accepted per the enrollment policy or the seat will be forfeited.
After seats are accepted, parents/guardians must complete the enrollment process per the enrollment policy or risk forfeiture of the seat.
There will be only 1 lottery completed for school year. Any additional open seats will be filled by additional applicants in the order that applications are received. When a grade level is full, additional applicants will be added to the waitlist in the order that applications are received.
